New Trademark for “I Like Big Butter and I Can Not Lie” Published

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office recently published the trademark for I LIKE BIG BUTTER AND I CAN NOT LIE. Of course the trademark is going to be used for butter. We did a few web searches and unfortunately could not find any examples of this awesome trademark being used.

Some may not appreciate why this trademark is so interesting. In 1992 Sir Mix-a-Lot released his album “Mack Daddy.” A hit song from that album was “Baby Got Back.” It was the second best-selling song in 1992 (losing out to “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston). The first verse begins with “I like big butts and I cannot lie,” which is very similar to this new trademark for butter. As far as I can tell, Sir Mix-a-Lot has nothing to do with this trademark application.

The image of the butter was my best attempt to create some big butter in a way that would pay homage to Sir Mix-a-Lot’s hit song. It took a lot longer than I thought it would, but I’m sure you’ll agree it was worth it.
